FEMI FRINGE FANTASIA

The Femi Fringe Fantasia came to support the #FemiFringe movement which sparked online and then developed in person amidst the 75th Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August 2022. The event hosted female and non-binary identifying creatives to gather, network and showcase short extracts of their work.

A revolutionary meeting of minds and #femifringe artists.  A casual cabaret-style open mic night followed by a beautiful ending where creative and personal conversations were had between the artists that attended.

Date: 15th August 2022

Location: Rose & Crown Pub, 170 Rose St, Edinburgh EH2 4BA

Order Of Events: Meet & Drinks (7pm - 7:30pm), Programmed Performances (7:30pm - 10pm), Open Mic (10pm - 11pm), Natter & Network (11pm - Midnight)

#FemiFringe

#FemiFringe was established by Charlotte Anne-Tilley and F-Bomb Theatre following a male theatre company saying there’s too much female-led work at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2022 . In response to this F-Bomb and Anne-Tilley began creating content (such as the #FemiFringe programme, map and trailer) to champion female and non-binary creativity at the Edinburgh Fringe.

The Femi Fringe Fantasia was hosted by Charlotte Anne-Tilley & Creatively Directed by SLF’s PJ Cunningham with Lauren Ellis-Stretch as Producer.

Bad Teacher by The Queen Of Cups

    Show Bio

The Queens of Cups draw upon their years teaching in Bad Teacher, a surreal dark comedy about the trials and tribulations a 20-something female teacher faces in the British education system.

This one-woman show, inspired by real life experiences, will confront audiences with eye opening truths about gender politics, mental health, and the outrageous expectations that our current educational system sets for students and teachers alike. Evie, the titular teacher, takes audiences with her as she battles through the school day, culminating in Parents Evening.

This laugh-out-loud script is unabashedly funny, unflinchingly realistic, and unashamedly female.
